On Saturday, May 16, PG&E sponsored a Solar Schools Energy Education workshop for MUSD teachers, which was held at the District Administration Building . It was a great hit! 64 teachers showed up to learn about energy conservation.
PG&E launched the Solar Schools Program in 2004 as a comprehensive effort to provide resources to schools and teachers to teach kids about the importance of solar energy and energy conservation. This Spring several teachers in San Joaquin County received Bright Idea Grants totaling $32,500.00. Lathrop Elementary School is the recipient of the Bright Ideas Grant for $10,000.00.Since starting the Solar Program in 2004, they have spent more than $7 million to provide teacher training, solar installations and bright ideas grants that help to further the exploration of solar science. Congratulations Lathrop Elementary!!!
