Algebra One is a one year course that satisfies one year of Manteca Unified School District’s three year requirements. This course also satisfies one year of three required years of math by the UC and CSU colleges. Curriculum topics of this course include: properties of real numbers; linear equations and their graphs, functions; solving and graphing equations and inequalities including those involving absolute value; systems of equations; exponents and exponential functions; quadratic equations; polynomials and factoring; rational equations and problem solving. Bench Mark Exams are administered every six weeks. An end of year District Aiming High Common Final is administered at the end of the year. Geometry is a one year course that satisfies one year of Manteca Unified School District’s three year requirements. This course also satisfies one year of three required years of math by the UC and CSU colleges. Curriculum topics of this course include: algebra as applied to geometry; graphing; right triangle trigonometry; similarity properties of geometric figures; properties of parallel lines; circle properties; properties of plane figures; patterns and problem solving; spatial visualization; proofs.
Bench Mark Exams are administered every six weeks. An end of year District Aiming High Common Final is administered at the end of the year. |
Accelerated Geometry is a one year course that satisfies one year of Manteca Unified School District’s three year requirements of math. This course also satisfies one year of three required years of math by the UC and CSU colleges. This course is designed for those students that have excelled in Algebra 1 and ish to pursue a more rigorous study of Algebra based Geometry. Curriculum topics of this course include: points, lines, planes, logical reasoning; properties of parallel lines; congruence and similarity properties of geometric shapes; coordinate geometry; area; surface area and volumes of three dimensional shapes; right triangle trigonometry and proofs.
Bench Mark Exams are administered every six weeks. An end of year District Aiming High Common Final is administered at the end of the year. CAHSEE math is a one semester course available to those students that have not passed the California High School Exit Exam in Math. This course is designed to improve student skills in the areas of number sense, geometry, probability and statistics, and algebra and functions. This class may be repeated for elective units.
Please note that students receive elective units only. This class does not count towards meeting Manteca Unified School District’s required three years of math. |
